These are a few of my favorite things.

I have always been a thrift store freak not just because of the prices but because I love interesting things. Thrift stores are like my carnival I can spend hours digging through all the stuff and when it was just me and my son most of his clothes, toys and shoes came from there. When we moved to Magnolia/Tomball I was so happy they had two thrift stores in town a place on Saturdays I can rummage through I am glad my better half loves to go also. So I have placed a group of some of the finds I have found along with what I have aquired from Freecycle (go to Freecycle.org and look to see what people have in your area.) if you are not familiar with it, it is a place where people are trying to give away stuff they have no use for to keep it out of landfills. Also another place I have found is shopgoodwill.com
where goodwills from across the country put stuff on to auction it off like ebay, I have found tons of patterns, sewing, scrapbook stuff and more. Hope you enjoy.

Into Waters Unknown-January Edition Happy Homemaker Tag Swap

So a new year begins and with it comes the possibility of what can be achieved this time.   Goals to be meet creative idea to exchange and aspire to.  So I begin this year with open eyes, heart and with my soul outstretched to let the light shine in.  I have joined a Tag Swap hosted by one of the very first blogs I read when I began my journey into the craft realm, Elizabeth of Bluebird Papercrafts with her gift for storytelling, vintage take on crafts has inspired me so much.  Each month I will try my hand at a new tag to reflect my take on the months, but also a reflection of the journey I am taking.  The rules are to purchase once a set of paper then use that and whatever you have on hand throughout the year. I am using the K&C Company Daydreams pad and I choose this because of the cartoon whimsy to collaborate with my women, kind of like something old and something quirky just like me. A Rose By Any Other Name: February’s Happy Homemaker Tag Along

Having the last name of Valentine, February can be either a curse or a blessing.   Growing up my mother made this month even more exciting than Christmas, she would say “This is our month. We are true Valentine’s we are so special we have a day name for us.”   So I grew up looking forward to February 14 th or as I like to call ME DAY, she would shower us with handmade candy, cards, presents and a special dinner.   When I went to school I carried my handmade Valentine’s along with candy to class, with a song in my heart I looked forwarded to the excitement of a day filled with warm hugs.   The only down side was that everyone is class would come up to me and ask how do you spell Valentine after a while I just told them to bring me what they were working on and I would write it.
