Work in Progress or Something I am Attempting to Make

My niece is a talented artist and since I can't draw I asked her to design something for me. I was driving home one day while listening to Amanda Palmer's CD I had a brainstorm. A friend of mine had triplets 7 months ago and I have been trying to think of something to make them, there are 2 girls and a boy who are the most adorable babies. I needed something as cute as them so I thought that it would be cute to make dolls using the letter of their first name. I called my niece who I talk with everyday on my commute home (which is an 1hr.) to tell her of my ideal, so together we came up with a design which she drew that night. So I am going to share her design to give you all an ideal of what is to come. They will be made of fabric and felt with pockets so that I can add ribbon with Velcro to fasten to stroller. If they work out right we have decided to do all the alphabet. So please leave a comment sharing your thoughts or to let me know of an animal that may fit the letters of the alphabet that are unusual. Sorry so short but I am starting to get a cold, by nature I am dizzy ditz yet the last couple of days it has been more so. Hope you all enjoy.

Oh my God! That is so incredibly cute!

I can't wait to see the finish product.

I wish I could be that creative, but my brain power has gone to another use...let's not go there. LOL!

Into Waters Unknown-January Edition Happy Homemaker Tag Swap

So a new year begins and with it comes the possibility of what can be achieved this time.   Goals to be meet creative idea to exchange and aspire to.  So I begin this year with open eyes, heart and with my soul outstretched to let the light shine in.  I have joined a Tag Swap hosted by one of the very first blogs I read when I began my journey into the craft realm, Elizabeth of Bluebird Papercrafts with her gift for storytelling, vintage take on crafts has inspired me so much.  Each month I will try my hand at a new tag to reflect my take on the months, but also a reflection of the journey I am taking.  The rules are to purchase once a set of paper then use that and whatever you have on hand throughout the year. A Rose By Any Other Name: February’s Happy Homemaker Tag Along

Having the last name of Valentine, February can be either a curse or a blessing.   Growing up my mother made this month even more exciting than Christmas, she would say “This is our month. We are true Valentine’s we are so special we have a day name for us.”   So I grew up looking forward to February 14 th or as I like to call ME DAY, she would shower us with handmade candy, cards, presents and a special dinner.   When I went to school I carried my handmade Valentine’s along with candy to class, with a song in my heart I looked forwarded to the excitement of a day filled with warm hugs.   The only down side was that everyone is class would come up to me and ask how do you spell Valentine after a while I just told them to bring me what they were working on and I would write it.
